Expertise and Professional Background

Lachlan is an Associate in Harneys’ Cayman Islands office and practices general commercial litigation and insolvency. He has acted on a variety of matters in the Cayman Islands and Australia (including acting for receivers and managers, administrators, provisional and official liquidators and creditors). Recently, Lachlan has acted in shareholder disputes and on the company side in numerous share valuation proceedings under section 238 of the Cayman Islands’ Companies Law. Lachlan regularly works with the Harneys team in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Harneys, Lachlan was a solicitor in Sydney at Henry Davis York and subsequently at Baker & McKenzie.

Lachlan regularly co-authors articles with his Harneys colleagues and contributes to The Offshore Litigation Blog, a Harneys blog that shares news and views about litigation, dispute resolution, restructuring and insolvency offshore. 

Lachlan is admitted to practice as an attorney in the Cayman Islands and as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. He is a professional member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association and a member of the Cayman Islands Recovery & Insolvency Specialists Association.
