Expertise and Professional Background

Ayana Hull is counsel in the Funds and Regulatory Department. She advises on the establishment, maintenance, operation and restructuring of BVI investment funds. She also advises on the regulatory implications BVI financial services and securities legislation have on BVI investment funds, managers, advisers, custodians, administrators and broker dealers conducting investment activity in or from within the BVI.
 
Ayana joined Harneys in September 2013. Prior to her joining Harneys, she practised in the corporate, commercial, funds and regulatory areas in the British Virgin Islands since 2004.  As a member of the Financial Services Commission’s Legal and Enforcement team, she also acted as in-house counsel to the BVI Financial Services Commission and its regulatory divisions.
 
She is a member of the BVI Financial Services Commission (FSC) Securities, Investment Business and Mutual Funds Advisory Committee. She is also the author of Financial Services deMystified, a text book Commissioned by the BVI Government in 2012 for introducing secondary school students to the financial services industry in the BVI. Ayana is also a notary public in the British Virgin Islands.
