Harneys’ staff in the BVI participated in the annual Sensus Colour Me Run/Walk on Saturday 17 June 2017.
Jacqueline Daley, organiser of the Harneys team said “we are delighted to have taken part in the 5k walk/run in support of the Sensus Free Mammogram Programme. All funds raised go directly towards providing free mammograms to women in the BVI in the fight against breast cancer.”
Lisa Adamson, one of the organisers of the event said “the programme started back in 2007, we have issued over 500 free mammogram vouchers, free cervical cancer test vouchers and managed to help out some ladies with the cost of medical expenses for travel and treatment of breast cancer. We know this programme is making a difference and saving lives and it would not be possible without the support of companies like Harneys and persons in the BVI and we are proud that this programme is helping to save lives.”
Supporting charitable organisations that improve the lives of vulnerable people is one of the areas of focus of the firm’s CSR programme. Other areas of focus include enriching educational opportunities for young people, promoting arts and culture, and protecting the environment.
